Story to be published in a volume this year by Riversong books, as well as in McDowell’s forthcoming collection, So…
I was honored to receive notice yesterday that my short story, “So Rude,” has been selected as a finalist in the Riversong Short Story Contest for 2022. Along with five other finalists, the story will be published in an upcoming volume by Riversong Books.
The story, “So Rude,” explores the reason for people’s rudeness and unfiltered personas. Why do people act so terribly toward others sometimes? We might also ask why do some people acts kindly towards others. Of course, there are many different reasons for people who are mean-spirited and people who are compassionate.
What about someone who is both? In the same conversation?

Dr. Markus McDowell writes multigenre fiction and nonfiction, travel reviews, edits books for other authors, and ghostwrites for nonauthors.
