To and Fro Upon the Earth: A Novel
Not for he faint of heart…McDowell takes perceived notions and completely shatters them…
Courtney Hancock, Georgia
I believe that this novel is his wake up call to society.
McDowell’s words deliciously fly off the pages. One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. You will not be disappointed.

Mortals As They Walk
A timely novel! Not heavy on the science, but McDowell did his research into genetic engineering and DNA editing…it’s a great story with a human element that propels the reader through it.

Onesimus: A Novel of Christianity in the Roman Empire
We follow the slave Onesimus who schemes to be free only to get in trouble for his efforts. Over the course of the book, he learns what it means to really be free.
Swan, reviewer on Amazon
Interspersed with Onesimus’ ongoing story are letters from the future that make you want to know the whole story and help you reflect on what already happened.
The story has just the right amount of suspense. I felt like I was right there with Onesimus, transported into the first century. I felt when he was overwhelmed as he arrived in a new city, I could almost taste his food, etc.
The Sky Over Chaos
As a reader, these short stories took me deep into the internal complexities of our humanity, when the ‘wild card’ of chaos is played. Each story has been crafted with literary tension, designed to take the reader beyond the end of the story. Dr Markus McDowell will have succeeded, if like me, you find yourself lingering over the story, having been evoked to ponder, reflect and question.
