This was a rough week in terms of writing. Extraneous and unexpected tasks, up, fires to put out, other demands of life, and suddenly it’s Friday and I have written almost nothing. Frustrating, but that must be expected as part of life.

I do have a lot of writing projects going on: a short story collection, a new novel that is still in outlining mode, a ghost writing project, and two books for editing. But I always feel incomplete when I don’t work on my own writings, which was the case this week.

A friend told me of an Airbnb house in Northern California, the house that was owned by John Steinbeck. It’s where he wrote many of his works. It is available for rent a month at a time. She suggested I should go there and focus exclusively on my novel. It’s a good idea, and I’m going to look into it a little later in the year.

In the meantime, I have set some goals for this week. I always do this on Sundays, I consider for things that would make me feel accomplished at the end of the week. It pops up on my phone every morning to remind me. I recommend this trick no matter what your work in life might be.

As always, if you’ve read any of my books, feel free to get in touch. I love hearing from my readers.
